𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗗𝗮𝘆 (𝟮𝟯𝗿𝗱 𝗡𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟮): UN Global Compact Network Pakistan in collaboration with K-Electric hosted the Business Talk SDGs Meeting where KE shared its journey on the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, the company’s energy aspirations and the roadmap for sustainability with industry experts.
The meeting brought together entrepreneurs, stakeholders and representatives from peer organizations to learn about SDGs, their targets and how they can embed them in their normal business practices to achieve the Global 2030 Agenda. The meeting agenda was focused on shaping and empowering businesses to be competitive in a global market.
UN GCNP has been mobilizing private sector entities to support governments in achieving the SDG targets. However, it will require the collective actions of participating organizations and stakeholders in the country to create the world we want.
DRIVING SUSTAINABILITY: GLOBAL COMPACT NETWORK PAKISTAN ACKNOWLEDGES K-ELECTRIC’S CONTRIBUTIONS TO SDGs
KARACHI 23rd November 2022: Executive Director of the Global Compact Network Pakistan Fasihul Karim Siddiqi commended KE’s contribution towards the UN Sustainable Development Goals, sharing their initiatives as an opportunity for others to mobilize towards building resilient, environmentally conscious communities.
These comments were made at a session inviting industry leaders and experts to learn from KE’s progress. With the climate crisis impacting people, many organizations are adopting environmentally conscious approaches into their business plans and daily operations. The UN Global Compact (UNGC) is a worldwide network of over 20,000 companies spanning 150 countries committed towards achieving this goal.
